Kundalini Yoga

Some practices only touch the surface. Kundalini Yoga reaches deeper – to the place where real change begins.
Kundalini Yoga is one of the oldest yoga traditions of India. In the form practised worldwide today, it was brought to the West by Yogi Bhajan at the end of the 1960s. Unlike many other yoga styles, Kundalini Yoga doesn’t only work with the body – it consciously brings together four levels: kriyas (set sequences of movement and posture), pranayama (specific breathing techniques), meditation and mantra – sounds that have been passed down for centuries and work beyond the mere meaning of the words.
Origin & practice
What the practice is about
Kundalini Yoga understands the human being as a whole – body, mind and soul. Its teachings speak of the ten bodies: the physical body, three mental bodies, the soul body, the aura, the pranic body and further subtle levels. The sequences, breathing techniques, meditations and mantras address all of these levels at once – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. That’s why this practice often goes so deep: it touches not only what you do, but who you are.
Kundalini Yoga can be a valuable companion if you long for more calm and clarity in everyday life, if you are in a phase of change, or if you sense that you’ve lost touch with yourself. The practice supports you in becoming more aware of old patterns and – even with just a few minutes a day – gives you an inner anchor you can return to again and again.
Many practitioners report more clarity of thought, a calmer mind and a deeper sense of connection – with themselves and with what is greater than everyday life.
Kundalini Yoga doesn’t invite you to become someone else. It invites you to experience what has always been within you.

My experience with Kundalini Yoga
My turning point
I have been practising Kundalini Yoga for six years – not as a concept, but as a daily reality in my life. There was a time when I felt completely out of control – a phase that unsettled me deeply and for which no one had an explanation. The moment I began practising a specific meditation every day became a real turning point for me: step by step, I found solid ground under my feet again.
Since then, a lot has shifted within me.
What has changed since then
I feel an aliveness and energy I didn’t know before, and a sense of being more in my own balance. Working with mantra and meditation has made my thoughts calmer; inner restlessness has grown quieter over the years. It feels like a true cleaning that goes far beyond the body – for me, this practice really goes deep.
What surprised me most, perhaps: Kundalini Yoga taught me discipline. Some exercises truly demand endurance – and often it’s only when you stay that you see what’s moving. This very endurance has carried over into my whole life; I have become more disciplined overall.
What I’ve learned through daily practice
Yogi Bhajan put it in one simple sentence: “Keep up, and you’ll be kept up.” When I give my best and truly want to grow, that is exactly what I experience: being carried.
This is the experience I want to pass on – not as a promise, but as an invitation: try it for yourself and feel what moves within you.
